What makes hip pains and injuries so common is that it is one of the most movable joints in the body and is entrusted with bearing the weight of the body.

Hip pains & injuries can result from arthritis, muscle strains, hip or stress fractures.

There are several symptoms attendant to hip problems including problems walking comfortably, hip pain occurring at night while resting, persistent pain, inability to bend at the hip, signs of infection, swelling.

The following hip exercises can help strengthen hips after an injury and can help prevent hip injuries. (Of course, these hip strengthening exercises need to be balanced with hip stretching exercises. Also, hip exercises need to be balanced with exercises for other body parts to help prevent injuries resulting from muscular & functional asymmetries.)

Technically, the first 4 exercises for the hips are for strengthening, The last 2 are mainly for stretching.

Do 1 - 3 sets, 5 - 20 reps, depending on your fitness level. Gradually increase sets, reps, resistance or whatever applies.

Side lying hip adduction, with or without bodybar

Body bar will offer resistance as would ankle weights. However, doing movement without any resistance still offers good effects.

You don’t need to use a bosu. You can place any similar structure under your abs, even a few large pillows. You can also do movement by just lying flat on the floor.

You can use ankle weights for movement or do with no resistance.

Assisted or unassisted hip flexors stretch on table

Nice if you have a partner or simply mimic the movement as well as you could while lying on the floor.
