Facts on cardiovascular exercise equipment
The top cardiovascular exercise machines follow including basic facts about those pieces of cardiovascular exercise equipment.
There are many factors involved in determining which fitness machines are best or at least satisfactory. But the number one criteria is, does the machine work your heart and lungs. Also, who is it appropriate for, what muscles does it engage, is it safe, interesting, can you vary intensity, can you do something else while on the machine etc. Whether you are trying out fitness machines at the gym or for purchase do try out as many as you can. Many cardio machines are simply too expensive to just wing it. Click here for more on developing an aerobic exercise program
Most popular cardiovascular exercise machines
Treadmills might be the most popular cardiovascular exercise equipment insofar as usage and purchase. However, many end up being used to hold up the inside of some closet.Makes sense to me as they can seem like the most useless fitness machines on the market. I mean why buy a piece of equipment that mimics something most people can do easily by walking out the door? Still many exercisers swear by them. Not everyone lives in neighborhoods that invite long fitness walks. Outdoor walks can include joint jarring concrete. So, many exercisers use treadmills which demand little coordination or physical expertise and can face wide screen TVs. Also, treadmills can be adapted to increase demands and can be programmed to measure progress. Either upright or recumbent models offer decent workouts for your legs. It is especially easy to read or watch TV while cycling. However, unless you join something like a demanding spinning class, it is a bit hard to get a really good workout from a stationary bike. I sometimes include handweights and intervals when I want a more demanding cycling session. But, mostly, I like to use my bike as a late workout supplement to exercise that's tougher on joints like running or sports. It's almost like a cooldown activity before my stretching activity or a beginner workout after some inactivity. Stairclimbers like the well-known StairMaster, simulate climbing steps. This cardiovascular exercise equipment offer a very good workout, especially for advanced fitness buffs. They also tone legs and buttocks. The first time I used one, when pretty young and in shape, I barely lasted 5 minutes. Be forewarned.
