* Best done while sitting

* Hold barbell with both hands

* Raise to arms' length

* Keep elbows & upper arms about 1’ from head

* Lower barbell in semicircular arc behind head until forearms near biceps

* Remember to inhale on down movement, exhale up


Curls (Biceps)

* Grab Barbell

* Stand erect

* Back is straight, head is up

* Curl barbell up

* Forearms are in line with outer shoulder muscles

* Lower barbell back to start in same arc

* Inhale on up movement, exhale on down movement


Squats (Thighs, Butt, Hamstrings)

* Head is up, back straight

* Place barbell on shoulders as pictured

* Squat until thighs are almost parallel to floor

* Then move back to start

* Inhale going down, exhale coming up


Heel raises (Calves)

* Place barbell on shoulders as pictured

* You can place balls of feet on raised object (could be Yellow Pages) for extra effect

* Back is straight, head up

* Keep hips rigid

* Lift heels as high as possible

* Hold position for a second

* Return to start

* Inhale down, exhale up
