* Dark chocolate & exercise
Regularly eating dark chocolate can improve the performance of exercisers by 50%.
Unfortunately, the study in the Journal of Physiology was done on mice. Still results are encouraging.
I've long used dark chocolate as a workout aid. When I'm feeling a little tired before an exercise session, I'll eat a bit of dark chocolate.
The little bit of sugar, caffeine and antioxidants I believe, help fuel the session.
* Dehydration leads to mood problems
A few months back, an item in The Telegraph addressed the issue of dehydration as a pervasive health problem. In particular it cited the effect dehydration has on our mental state.
No wonder since the brain uses water as a fuel or water helps the brain to use its fuel. Either way, all emotions are housed in the brain and so if the brain isn’t hydrated and well fueled, it should negatively effect emotions and thinking processes.

* Chronic fatigue syndrome herbs
Recently completed a section on home remedies for chronic fatigue
It is quite difficult to advise on this issue as so many individual factors may be involved. Common sense advice could include finding the right balance of eating patterns, exercise, rest and using herbs for support. If there’s one herb that should be given a try it would be ginseng.
Take a good supplement, as directed. Be patient because ginseng will take some time to start to help. For more, visit our pages on…

* Manuka honey for skin lines and dryness
Just a little dab could help erase fine lines and soften scaly skin. Hope it doesn’t draw any ants because that would be embarrassing.
* Supplements & memory herbs
Supplemental folic acid and lycopene appear to improve memory.
You can take both nutrients as supplements or you can just get the lycopene from tomato products and folic acid from orange juice. You know, consume real foods, get healthier, feel better.
* Concentration herb
Hey a “two - for” here. The ginseng you use for memory helps concentration too, a fairly closely aligned ability. I guess that, along with fish, ginseng is a brain food too.
* Great herbal home made shower gel
This herbal shower gel is really terrific and makes me feel good. Also unlike the commercial ones, you wont get all of the unhealthy additives and you control exactly how strong final product is.
Just mix the following:
1 c. shampoo or 1 cup castile soap
I strongly recommend organic castile soap.
1/2 c water
Try and use freshly filtered water
1-1/2 T. salt
Finely powdered sea salt would be preferable.
12-15 drops of essential oil of your choice
I prefer peppermint oil
Note: the final product is not “jell-y.” More like the consistency of milk.
* Clean the inside of your bag
Sometimes it’s the little things. The obvious little things.
We all have our favorite book or sports bags, or a purse. I use my book bag to tote groceries home and sometimes to carry books and stuff.
Well, know this. Those same bags collect a cauldron of viruses, bacteria and germs. Not to mention smells.
Like other accoutrements, they need to be cleaned, washed, laundered to get rid of those pests. If made of cloth, they could be put in laundry or you could wipe with any decent cleaner, then air out.
* White bean supplement blocks carbs
It’s pretty conclusive. Taking extract of white bean before meals helps block some carbohydrates from entering your system and therefore may help you lose weight.
Look, frankly I’m not in love with re-engineering how your body works. Normally, I wouldn’t want to fool with the body’s natural processes.
However, if you are having a hard time with weight and with indulging in carbs, this may be an effective, fairly safe strategy to help you out.
* Easy herbal remedy for stinky feet
Talk about doing double duty.
After you make yourself a cup of black tea. Leave a little tea in the bag, cool as needed, then use tea bag to wipe down feet especially the soles. Don’t dry off. Feet will dry clean. The tannins in the tea help control foot odor.
* Miracle supplement for weight loss?
Conjugated linoleum acid (CLA) has been shown to help takers lose 40 pounds of fat yearly. Take as directed and don’t indulge believing that the CLA will take care of it.
* Remedies to cleanse colon
In a nutshell, eat more fiber and drink lots of water. For me, working out, being in shape seems to assure healthy colon functioning. For more, visit the following pages.

* Better sex thru exercise
More sex. Better sex. Sex. Sex. Sex. Look, there are many reasons for this and I just don't want to get so gosh darn clinical but the big reason for the increased “satisfaction” has to do with blood flow so, exercise, and that's all I'm going to say about this. For now.
Just one last thought as we head into the holiday season. What you do counts. Counts for dozens if not hundreds of people. Resolve to do better, be positive. You'll see the difference you make.
Comments? Ideas? Feedback? I'd love to hear from you. Just reply to Healthy World Digest and tell me what you think.
